So yesterday I bought a cheapie commuter car to get me to and from work; a little 02 Hyundai Accent.
My 1st impression was MEH. I mean I paid next to nothing for an 02 w/ 57k miles, so I shouldn’t complain too hard. I’m just upset it’s not my 06 VW GTI that I want with a passion, but it will allow me to save up to BUY said GTI within the next year or 2 for sure.
I looked at a lot of older Ford whatevers that were approx the same price, but absolutely trashed with well over 100k miles. This should end up being reliable in the long run over the next year, which is all I need at the moment.
I’ll probably have a lot of thoughts & mini reviews on this car in the future, I’m just sleepy and MEH this morning since it’s a MONDAY IMPOSTER with the holiday and crap.
Creative has launched an Apple iPod mini lookalike in its latest member of the Zen MP3 players – Zen Sleek
And it is absolutely HOT!!!
Maybe the title should be “Creative does iPod better than Apple.”
I think I’ll be picking one of these bad boys up next paycheque. To be continued…
In the mean time check out the stats on it and commence drooling.
Zen Sleek Features:
*Based on four-minute songs at 64Kbps in WMA, 128Kbps in MP3.
I’ve spent the past few weeks since moving to the Detroit area panning thru the city of Detroit using the satellite imagery from google maps. It’s a great time, and it’s been quite an adventure & learning experience about the history of the city, as well as the plight and economic disparity still existing today. Check out this snipit of the North Gratiot area near Van Dyke. North of Gratiot is the Great Detroit Prairie; a vast wasteland of tall grass & abandoned ruins of homes crossed by streets which used to comprise a bustling Slovak neighborhood at the turn of the century. South of Gratiot; a nice gated community of nice homes.
What the fuck. Please tell me why “Destiny’s Child announces breakup” is a CNN Breaking News headline? Oh and while we’re on the subject of WTF in case you are suffering from the celebrity bullshit withdrawl jitters, Katie Holmes says she’s converting to the Church of Scientology, embracing the religion of her boyfriend Tom Cruise.
If you care about either of these stories, how about you go sip on a nice warm cup of WHO THE FUCK CARES.
It makes me proud to know I live 4 blocks from the city of Detroit, where stuff like this happens and no one acts too suprised.
If you are too lazy to click the link this is my executive summary:
A masked man ordered paramedics to step away from a teenager who lay bleeding on a stretcher from bullet wounds, then killed him with a shotgun blast to the head.
What It’s Like in the D. Sing along with me now…
I was retarded and let my domains lapse for a day. This is what I get for changing the email reported in a WHOIS lookup to try and lighten my spam load, only to have that email adress stop being forwarded.
Big oops on my part. Glad it was caught or the fans of defunkt the band might have had an excuse to stop emailing me to accuse me of domain squatting or whatever…
Only in Detroit could you possibly turn on the radio for a Friday morning “Eggs ‘n Grits” ghetto booty DJ set for the morning commute drive. Oddly enough, it started my day off very good.
Hit it from the back y’all.
President George W. Bush:
“See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.”
(Applause)
Joseph Goebbles, Hitler’s Minister of Propaganda:
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
