Pet Food Recall Part 4: Menu Foods is all talk

From the Menu Foods FAQ online:

If Menu Foods product is the cause of sickness or death, Menu Foods will take responsibility. Menu has engaged a professional firm to manage your concerns and is currently contacting concerned pet owners who have reached our call center. Specific direction will be received from these individuals. Please keep copies of all your vet records and receipts for pet food purchases as well as vet bills.

I just spent 20 minutes on hold after calling the Menu Foods “hotline”. The woman on the phone asked one question, what brand did I purchase? After I said Eukanuba she put me on hold for another minute so she could find the Eukanuba customer service number, and then hung up.

So in essence it took 25 minutes for Menu Foods to give me a phone number I could just have easily gotten from the internet. And what about this “professional firm” Manu Foods has hired? If by “professional” they mean lets-see-how-fast-we-can-redirect-them-to-someone-else I think they might be closer to the truth.

If Menu Foods thinks it can get rid of me that easy, they’re wrong. I’m prepared for a long fight on this one.

Tune in for Pet Food Recall Part 5 when I call Eukanuba so that they can tell me to call Menu Foods back.
