“My knees are hitting the wall. Move over, you’re taking up too much of the bed.”
“It’s good for you.”
“Will it put hair on my chest?”
“That and make you see better!”

I need to write a nasty letter to the vending machine company here at work. They always seem to put the Butterfinger bars so high up in the machine that when the machine drops the them to vend, the candy bars inevitably break.
That’s almost as good as the time they put the pop-tarts all the way on the top fucking shelf. Trying to get my breakfast out of the machine in a single piece was “interesting”…
We’re addicted to Lost. While I was scouring the net for sneak peak videos, I came across these 2 videos which made Christa and I crack up…

We’re so addicted…
This morning I knew exactly what had happened before Christa even said anything.
There was a gasp, a plop, and a scream to alert me that Christa’s engagement ring had ended up in the toilet.
Too much information? Don’t worry, I fashioned a hook out of a coat hanger while Christa kept watch on the bowl to make sure the ring didn’t go anywhere so I wouldn’t have to go noodling for the ring bare handed.
I’ve been unintentionally taking a little break from blogging the past few days; things happened, stuff came up, and I was too busy being outside for once to worry about it.
The big news I might have had fizzled out last week as I learned recruiters are the scum of the earth. I did some disc golf for the first time in 2 years and only hit a few trees. Christa had her shower in Grand Rapids on Saturday, so I tagged along for a free ride to hang out with my Dad for a few hours. I spent an entire day gardening, and I’ve never hated weeds so much in my life.
I’ll get back into the swing of things…
As a follow-up to last week’s rant about pet food, I found a company from Midland, MI (Wysong) that produces all their pet food locally. Its twice as expensive as the stuff I used to buy, but at least there is some confidence in the product, and I am supporting a local company.
The ingredients for the can I gave my dog and kitty last night listed:
Contains rabbit; no grains, no fillers, no artificial preservatives, no synthetic vitamins or minerals, no artificial colouring, and no no artificial or synthetic anything else. Just rabbit.
Both the animals went ape for it, so I bought another can to give a whirl — this time turkey.
It’s ingredients?
Turkey, water sufficient for processing.
Not only do both animals love it, but Mister look-at-me-wrong-and-I’ll-puke Bailey has gone an entire week without regurgitation. Simply amazing!
Most of you probably won’t care, but yesterday the planets were in alignment & all the laws of quantum physics were broken; I managed to change the oil & degunk the lawn mower carburetor to get it started after winter storage… IN ONE PULL!
Any of you who know me know I one of the least mechanically inclined people on the planet, only marginally ahead of the dude below.
According to news today in the Toronto Star:
WASHINGTON – An industrial chemical that led to a recall of more than 100 brands of cat and dog foods has been found to contaminate a second pet food ingredient, expanding the recall further.
The chemical, melamine, is believed to have contaminated rice protein concentrate used to make a variety of Natural Balance Pet Foods products for both dogs and cats, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday.
Natural Balance said it was recalling all its Venison and Brown Rice canned and bagged dog foods, its Venison and Brown Rice dog treats and its Venison and Green Pea dry cat food.
This is just spectacular. After the recent pet food debacle, I switched up all the wet food for both the cat and the dog to Natural Balance. Monty in particular LOVED the new food. Wouldn’t you know it, the diarrhea and puking he did last Sunday — while not enough to tip us off to more tainted food, but enough to make me remember what he ate that day — was probably due to the can of Natural Balance Venison and Brown Rice food I gave him. Luckily I read this today as the last can of wet food I have remaining is *gasp* Natural Balance Venison and Brown Rice.
Dear Pet Food Industry,
I think you just lost a customer permanently.
[08:34] < @chiqy> matt, i am extremely disappointed in your blog of late.
I know — bad blogger bad blogger!!! As Linda so graciously pointed out it has been a whole week since an update, so let me get you up to speed…
So this week has just flown by ridiculously fast, and I’ll try to keep up on new news.
Which incidentally, big news may be posted here soon, I’m crossing my fingers on it…
